Publisher

Sporalo is published on a non-professional basis by a natural person. In accordance with French law no. 2004-575 of 21 June 2004 on confidence in the digital economy (LCEN), which allows non-professional publishers to preserve their anonymity, their identity is not published: it has been provided to the host below, from whom any judicial authority may request it. The site is free, carries no advertising and generates no income.

Publication director: the publisher (anonymous within the meaning of the aforementioned article).

Personal data (GDPR)

Data controller: the publisher of the site (see above), reachable through the contact form. The site has not appointed a data protection officer (not mandatory).

Principle: the site asks for nothing and keeps the minimum. There are no accounts, no cookies, no audience measurement, no advertising, no tracking tools, and no third-party service loaded in the pages apart from the base map.

  • Browsing the site. The application log keeps only the date, the method, the path without parameters (so without coordinates), the response code and the duration: no IP address, no user-agent, no identifier. The web server keeps no visit log; only its technical error log (rejected request, interrupted connection) may contain the IP address concerned, kept for 14 days for the security of the server (legal basis: legitimate interest). To limit abuse, the IP address is also counted in working memory for a few minutes to a few hours (rate limiting), without being written to disk. The host may have its own network logs.
  • “I found some” / “Found nothing” reports. The following are recorded: species, date of the day, point rounded to about 1 km, the day's score at that place and the sender's IP address, kept for 90 days to detect fraudulent reports (legal basis: legitimate interest). This data is used only to check the model and is never published; the report itself (without the IP address) is kept for validation of the model. You may object to this processing via the contact form.
  • Local storage. After a report, your browser keeps a marker (species, date, rounded point) in its local storage to avoid duplicates and allow cancellation. It stays on your device, is never read by the server and is erased along with the site's data in your browser. No cookie is set.
  • “Locate me”. Your device's position is used only in your browser to centre the map, after your permission. It is neither sent nor stored by the site. The coordinates of a point you look at are sent to the server to calculate the page, without being logged.
  • Base map. It is loaded from OpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org), which receives your browser's tile requests (IP address, displayed area), like any online mapping service. Sporalo has no access to this data.
  • Fonts and scripts are served by the site itself.

Backups. The site's databases (reports, alerts) are copied every day onto the same server and each copy is erased after 14 days: data that is deleted therefore disappears completely from the backups within 14 days.

Recipients. The data is hosted in France by OVH SAS (host). Messages from the contact form are received in a mailbox provided by Migadu (Switzerland, a country recognised by the European Commission as offering adequate protection). No data is sold, given or transferred to third parties for commercial purposes.

Your rights. You have a right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and, for alerts, portability and withdrawal of consent at any time. To exercise them, write via the contact form giving the information needed to find your data (for example the e-mail address of an alert); reply within one month. Reports are not linked to an identity: they can only be found if you indicate the species, the date and the place. You may lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr) or with the data protection authority of your country.

E-mail alerts

“Mushrooms growing here” alert (button on a point's page on the map). Data collected: your e-mail address, the species and a place rounded to about 1 km. Sole purpose: to send you the requested alert (legal basis: your consent). One address can follow only one place. Double-confirmation sign-up: an unconfirmed address is deleted within 48 hours. Every message contains a one-click unsubscribe link, which immediately deletes your data. Messages are sent from the site's own server, without a third-party sending service; the technical log of the mail server keeps a trace of each sending (recipient address, time) for 10 days, to diagnose delivery errors. The address is never used for anything else nor passed to anyone. You can request access to or erasure of your data via the contact form.

Contact form

Data collected: your message and, if you give it, your e-mail address for the reply (optional). The message is forwarded by e-mail to the publisher and is not stored by the site; it is kept in the publisher's inbox while the request is handled, then for one year at most. Sole purpose: to answer your request (legal basis: legitimate interest). The IP address is used only in working memory to limit abusive submissions.
